In recognition of Dr. Svengsouk MD innovative approach introducing flute music in palliative care. The box cross on left is a representative of the One Dish-One Spoon a symbol from which all can share the resources. It bears the colors of Dr. Svengsouk homeland, Thailand. Center: medicine pipe with burning tobacco. The cross on right is a medicine wheel with the four sacred directions. The red stripes stand for the blood shed by the Lao people on both banks of the Mekong River (the multi-ethnic people of Laos and the Isan people of Northeastern Thailand) in their struggle for freedom and independence from the French, and the blue symbolizes the Mekong River itself, a symbol of the nation's prosperity. The khene is a mouth organ usually made of bamboo. Today this type of flute is associated with the people of Laos and Ian and dates back to the Bronze Age in East Asia ©.3100-300 bc). In Laos, white is the color of peace, good fortune, honesty and warmth.
